Nice Job on this, This should be Stickied. It's becoming very useful for me. I have never crafted a Item in my life on diablo 2: LOD becuz I never really understood it and it would never work out for me. I used to be on diabloii.net alot and it like didn't really interest me. Not bad! You'll find that frequently, when you don't get what you want, you still end up with some excellent mid-level stuff. I'ved got a pile of similar ammys with Clvl 40-70 that I use on my mid-lvls or give as gifts to random poor people I comes across. Thx for the kind words. Most feedback I've gotten on this guide has been "Nice guide. Where the hell was it 7 years ago when people actually still played?" Well, that long ago, I was way too busy crafting (and way too greedy) to let the secret out.

That's mentioned in the guide, but since you used Olvl properly, which shows you actually read it, I'll save you the time +2 ALL skills is Alvl=90, so you must have Olvl=90+ for it to appear. 10% Faster Cast Rate 's Alvl = Amulets(5), so that combo basically represents the lowest and highest possible mod Alvls, so you can't really fine-tune it.

This calc is useful for ALL kinds of Alvl and affix hunting, but the link above just shows the affixes possible on an Olvl=99 crafted ammy. It also shows all their Alvls, their Clvl requirement, and also important, the affix's frequency. When choosing an affix, all the frequencies of affixes that can appear are added together, and your chance to get it is the total frequency divided by that affix's frequency.

Ex: +2 All skills has a frequency of 2, (that's actually better than getting a +1/+2 skill tree affix). If you add together all the frequencies of all the affixes, you end up with a 2:195, or 1.025641% chance to get a specific +2 class skills affix. To get ANY +2 class skills, the chance is 14:195, or about 7.18%

By using that calc, I see that the chance for a +2 Sorc / 10% FCR is incredibly low: 0.0841% Also, you won't see a 20% FCR affix on that list. Remember that 20% FCR can only happen if you do a caster ammy and get the full 10% FCR from the 5-10% FCR preset mod. Given that, the actual chance of getting +2 Class Skills and 20% FCR drops to about 0.0168%, or about 1 in 5952, which is about the same chance as Nightmare Diablo or Baal dropping a HoZ.

So, unless you get really lucky, you may have to live with +2 sorc 15-19% FCR if you get it. I usually find I get a lot of 10-19% fcr with all resists and one extra single resist (ex: 19% 19% 59% 19%) but no skills, although I have gotten a +2 Pally 20% FCR and a +2Nec 20% FCR, and a lot of +1 Class/+2 skill tree 15-19% FCR which are also useful.

I've been working on Part 2 (aka Advanced Crafting), which is actually pretty short, just includes a little more technical info, some common desirable affix combos, their chances and a more thorough look at the best and worst recipes. If anyone really wants to read it, let me know, and I'll devote a little more time to finishing it.

I'd also like to see that...unless they get better stuff than I do, in which case I'll be severely pissed. I've been trying to get a certain zon ammy for years. Friend got one in an hour, but it had a lvl 95 requirement

I crafted this not too long ago. I think it's pretty sexy

I made one sort of like that, but it was a Blood ammy, and instead of Mana, I got 79% goldfind, so it ws the perfect goldfinder ammy

Seeing a lot of people doing Blood helms now. Apparently the Visionary affix (1% AR bonus per level, iirc) and up to 3os is possible.

made this yesterday, so far the best one out of like 40 ammys.
Havent gotten any good gloves yet.

Nice job! I hate you, btw. That's about as good as a Pally Caster can get. Beats a Maras anyday, IMO. Wonder what that'd go for in trade?

I don't see how you got the 95 lvl req on that. Looking at the formula, there's no way. It should be around 51-56. But it happens :/

Oh yeah Rare and crafted boots/belts can be incredibly badass if you have the time and patience. Most people will only like them if they need certain mods and boots are the only thing they can afford to replace, though.

Here's a crafted Boot random mod calc
Of course 20-30% FHR, but also 101-200% Def, Faithful (x/def per level), 10% FHR, 70-80% goldfind, and 3-4 single resists from 30-40%. A blood boot with the 10% fire res preset could get you 50% fire res. Caster and Safety are also good, but using the elite item for Blood/Safety boot recipes (Mirrored/Myrmidon Greaves) can really suck when you get a nice boot with 208-240 str requirement, which happens quite a bit.

Since there's just no "great" boots out there, I've been doing crafteds and rares trying for 150%+ def, 30% FRW, 10% FHR, 35%+ Lite res, Str, and whatever else I can pack in as a niche boot for my java I'm trying tweak so she can easier solo uberMeph . Of all my gear, boots are the only thing I can change without ruining part of her killing power. Even then, it's a big loss (she uses gores atm).

Belts are also nice: Belts Mod Calc 41-60 life, 21-30 str, 17-24% fhr, single resists from 21-30%.
Caster belt for FCR and Safety belt for DR are the two best of those.

If I get time in the next week, I'm going to post pix of my all-time 10 bests crafts, so I can watch Cosmo get something better in less than 24 hours
