I have been running 3x bots doing chaos baals in the same game on east
bots stopped because dclone spawned in game
(~5-10 minutes pass as bots idle ingame before by chance I happen to check them and notice that dclone was ingame)
so I leave with bot #3 (rand assistant hammerdin that already has anni) and use leader to kill clone. bot #2 still idle ingame to pick up anni
when dclone is almost dead i get ridiculous lag. entire game froze on both bot #1 and bot #2..i run bot #2 through town and see invisble town stuff etc...which reminds me of old dupe methods like the bonewall one way back in the day
i happen to have the leader's account up on another window because i was using mule chars, so on a whim (as both othher chars are still ingame and ping is essentially infinite) i try to join a random game from the joinlist. it works and i am in a random game called "kill my andy" or something, yet also lagging in the dclone game
i switch back to the dclone game and the lag stops and i get the expected super-fast-motion stuff where my char sprints all over the screen etc, but then i realize that i'm actually in 2 games.
since i had the second char in the dclone game i start to drop random gear that i wound't be afraid to lose, like my rand anni/a few charms
i bring the idle bot char to WP to pick up items, but as i'm doing do the main char (bot #1) drops due to c/i. Same happens to the same character in the second "kill my andy game".
but bot #2 is still ingame and picked up the items
literally seconds after i pick up the items that char also c/i's

then i had unable to connect to b.net for a ~5 minutes on all accounts

when i was able to relog I created a game with my main char (hdin) and noticed that the charms i dropped were still there
i got a little excited and bought up my second window and created a new game with the assassin that picked up the items (bot #2) and it also had the exact same items... 14/12/6 anni, 19 life sc, and 12 life/5 all res sc

i brought in extra loaders to 'perm' the chars just in case (idk exactly how all that works but wanted to be careful) and it seems that the items are in fact functional and duped

tl;dr - idk what happened, but somehow was able to join 2x games with the same char. accidentally duped anni and random sc's, but don't know how to repeat it. My best guess is the anni hunter who popped the IP did a rollback or something I got taken along for the ride. LMK if anyone has some knowledge to share on this.

interesting, i had something similar happen to me but dupe didnt work
i was in 2 games at same time on the same char (loaded 2 windows)
i tried transferred the gear off both of them, but when i relogged, the gear was back on the 1 char....
was excited at first being able to play the same char in 2 games at same time

ladder reset must have changed something because that has never happened to me in the 10+ years of playing d2

yup same thing has happened to me
and it is still possible to dupe

u should have kept on doing it and brought some gg items ingame while it worked
