Thats not true.
If somone hacks your account and blizzard can verify its a different IP, changed pass, etc, they will restore all your items and give your account back.

Dude, one of my friends' account got hacked and they wouldn't give gold back or disenchanted items.

Then your friend already reclaimed items 4 times, waited to long to report it, didnt send noterized ID, or he didn't get hacked.

I can tell you that this is very much at your own risk. I had my account hacked by playing on a Netcafe wich for some reason allowed upto 2mb of own "Configs" wich lead to some tard isntalling keyloggers .. ANYWAYS! Reported as soon as i found out and i got my account back .. all chars itemless couss this dude dis'ed it all .. This was my first ever ticket to a GM so aint couss of that ... Maybe i just picked the Wrong GM at the Wrong day but still ... Be Carefull!

When your account gets hacked, they need you to send in ID.
If the ID matches, your account gets refunded.
You have to page a GM, if not already questioning your items. they will either say "Thank you for letting us know" or "We are already looking into it"

My gold took 2 weeks to come back, but ive known people to wait 4-5months for gear.

just so you guys know they are now making you give back any mats gained if you do something like this

They are, atleast now, no longer restoring full characters if the owner of the character(s) was reponsible for any mishaps. A guildie decided to quit the game and DE'd all his gear. A week later he came back and ticketed a GM and he was allowed to pick one (1) item to get restored (he chose his .5 gloves).

He didn't have to give back the mats (he didn't have them, he gave them away).

As for reclaiming full characters due to being hacked (not your fault), they aren't restoring gold and any non-soulbound BOES, aswell as flasks and mats. If you lose your professions you're SOL there, too. One of my officers had her two 60's deleted/destroyed by an ex-guildie she had pissed off (he had a crush on her :p). She lost over 1k g and easily 5k+ in flasks and boe epics.
