It still works.

Swap the hex code for bid to buyout,
bid again to trick the server into buyout,

win.

It only works with items without buyouts


This exploit happened to me and I had a buyout on my item.

Can't believe how simple this method is, trust blizzard to have an exploit like this.

Anyway, since that exploit has not been fixed, you just should put a minimal bid who got exactly the same value as the buyout, to prevent this... Particulary on expansives items.

lol i tried switching the bid confirmation with buyout confirmation hex and it just crashed my game when i then clicked on the bid button

Ditto. I swapped the button at 00A7540C to 00A753DE Talking to k_os, he mentioned that the function called by clicking the buttons likely gets passed a hash of the button that was clicked, and that there would be some verification, which would explain the crashes. I didn't figure this would work like that, but thought it was worth a shot anyway. =p

Good thing i don't make auction sales,i just put the same price in bid and buyout :)
