Anyone know why whenever I try to add dota_camera_distance 1700 to the console I get the error message

Can't use cheat cvar dota_camera_distance in multiplayer, unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1.


Yet I can do -lvlup 25 and all of the chat commands fine...?

If you want to find the offset without waiting for it to be updated here. Here is the updated method to what Xzetrez posted in page 7.

01- Download and install any memory editing program. eg. ArtMoney SE, CheatEngine, MHS, etc.
02- Open Steam and on your Steam Library, right click on Dota 2, and click on Properties.
03- Click on Set Launch Options and Type in "-console" without the quotation marks and then click OK.
05- Start DOTA then go to option -> Metagames and set a hotkey for the Console.
06- Go back to main menu. Go to Watch and find any video to download and play.
07- Tab out of DOTA 2 and start your memory editing tool.
08- On the main windows where it says 'Select process' you select Dota 2
09- Click the Search button and on the new window type 1134 under Value and click OK. The program will find then a ton of memory addresses with this value, btw this is the standard camera distance.
10- Now go back to Dota 2, open the console (use the hotkey you set in step 5), and type dota_camera_distance 1700.
11- Go back to your memory editing tool.
12- Now that we have changed the camera distance in the game, we have to filter those results from before and see which one changed from 1134 to 1700. Just click on the filter or sub search button, type 1700 under value and click OK. Voilá.
13- Only one address will remain, to find out the offset, click the red arrow to add this address to the table on the right.
14- Right click the address and go to Edit
15- On the new window, on the option Address there is an arrow, click that arrow and then click Address in Module
16- A new line will appear with the offset. In this case it was 014F78F8. But the offset used in this hack seems to be a little modified, you have to add an 'x' after the first 0 or remove that 0. Either way, just update the hack with the new value and enjoy.
