 Post subject: What is your routine after a workout?

I'm trying to figure out the best way to end my workouts. Right now I just jump in the shower (cold as possible) and then drink a Nestle Boost High Protein. I'm going start using vitas, fish oil, and perhaps some kind of protein powder, but right now I feel like this is sufficient since I have just started getting my routine down (second week strong!)


Not sure if the protein drink I am drinking is good, but for the price and taste I will most likely continue to use it unless you guys think otherwise...

our running team is sponsored by Hammer Nutrition but the woman and I have always used their stuff.

16oz Recoverite mix afterwards with a clif builder bar or some homemade peanut butter protein cookies
10-15 minutes with our rollers. We have a large smooth foam roller for sides and back, smaller ribbed one for quads and delts and sides of torso and a nice think hand roller bar for calves and anywhere else i want.
cool shower or a dip in the pool. usually do some laps in the pool but lightly.

we eat all our vitamins before bed (one a days, tissue rejuv,ao booster and i take zinc pills for mega hard boners).

Immediately following a brutal workout, I: drink a large glass of (coconut) water, get stoned, eat a can of yellowfin tuna, (take a shit), take a shower, eat STEEL-CUT OATS, feel like a goddamn beast, take a nap, wake up, carry on.

I have a blenderball and make a shake with two scoops of ON whey powder. The blender ball addition has been a game changer for me.

My routine after a workout is to play Badminton with my friends.It is my favorite pastime.I play sports daily in evening.

Depends what you're looking for. Are you looking for pure muscle/strength building, or more to just be "toned" and look good? If pure muscle/strength building you want to make sure you eat loads. Immediately after a workout I suggest something sugary (even candy is better then no sugar), fruits are ideal. As well as 1 scoop of whey+1scoop of casein protein. Getting you sugar levels back up after a workout is important for muscle building. A hard workout causes your insulin levels to drop. Lower insulin levels result in the body using up muscles as its fuel and you lose some muscle mass. Thus the importance of some sugar after a workout. Ideally "good" sugars from fruit etc are best, but again, something like some gummy bears etc is better then no sugar. Now if you're just looking to get "cut" or "toned" I'd skip any sugar/carbs and stick to a high protein diet. Your protein powders will be important. Whey upon waking and before/immediately after workouts and Casein before bed/when you're not going to be able to eat for a while.
