Here's one from me! (Wow I haven't posted in this thread since... 04 maybe?)
I made this for my Tabula Rasa clan's forum. I wanted something really dark.
There's a lot of pictures there, only one is visible because I kind of overdid it.
i think the over-doing of it kind of makes it work.
It's like a picture of a psychopath mind portrayed with all the frantic clutter and lack of color.
edit- I jut noticed the text though. It's nearly impossible to read, I didn't even notice it at first.
Honestly it looks like he just grabbed a set of grungebrushes and went over and over and over.
I used some brushes in the end, to give it a bit more darker look.
Not just grunge brushes, because you can really get a grunge feeling by using other brushes the right way.
But all in all that picture consists of:
1) The background grass from a photograph I took of a squirrell
2) Picture of a nun getting crucified by two other nuns (From a Bunuel movie)
3) Picture of a big group of people with gasmasks (from WWII I guess)
4) Picture of Gwynplaine in The Man Who Laughs (on the top left corner, actually visible)
Now, why did I use so many pictures to make it when only one of them is clearly visible?
Well... uh.. I think it makes ME feel better and also you can see small parts of the other pictures if you look carefully, so that might even frighten some people.
PS. I wouldn't normally start typing a reply where I explain something like this, but I see you thought I'm new to the graphics world.
