Blizzhackers

I am trying to apply a pattern fill (like dots, vertical/horizontal/diagonal lines, etc.) to a shape in excel 2007. This has been removed from the fill menus, but supposedly it is possible via vba, which is how i need to do it anyhow as I plan to loop through an array and apply it to various shapes. I have found a few examples on google but I cannot get any of them to work, so any help or examples would be greatly appreciated.
