I manage a Windows. 2008 server and I am trying to figure out how to have it automatically email me with error reports. I'm not looking for the detailed network report or the summary network reports. I already have those configured.

I remember from a while back that there was a script that you would have run every day and it would send the report to you via email. Does anyone know where I could locate that script or explain how to set that up?

What kind of errors are you talking about?

Windows has some forwarding options to other computers with winrm and wecutil, if you're constantly on a VPN it could be a good alternative.

According to a bit of googling (first result), you can use wevutil and tasks to set up emailed reports however:

Mibz, I was actually talking about what Lurker was saying. My issue was that I couldn't think of what they were called so I obviously wasn't sure how to Google it. Now my question is if there is a universal way to set it so that when a Critical log comes through it emails those? the way you showed appears to be when a specific type of log comes through opposed to a certain level of importance.

I'm not sure if it'll work, but if you set up a custom log of only critical events for example, you should be able to apply the same forwarding techniques. These would be set up within Event Viewer iirc.
