I'm trying to get the name for a game I played back in the late 90s

you could pick cars//trucks and you would race down a linear path. you had weapons. you also had power ups like wrenches and other things. i remember going from planet to planet. and I'm pretty sure you benefited from destroying other vehicles.

anyone remember this game? I remember having tons of fun with it.

Rock n Roll Racers? Spy Hunter? Twister Metal (not linear)?

I Guess it's not that linear. you can move left and right... actually a far ways. but there is no turning. it's pretty much one big terrain that you fly down and shoot other cars with guns//weapons on your cars.

I know there is also boss fights. where you fight bigger vehicles.

Hmm, then it's probably none of the games I mentioned, grr argh. I'll keep racking my brain to see if I can figure it out.

oh man sounds like megarace. It was on pc and ps2, I dunno if it was on ps1 though.

Sounds like MegaRace like stated above or something like Twisted Metal.

Though you didn't race in Twisted Metal as much as fuck shit up all the time.

Vigilante 8 is similar game that comes to mind.
