Player reports someone hacked their account to a GM.
The GM checks the IP logs and sees that someone logged into the account from an IP that is out of the ordinary.
They check the item/mail logs and see that when that IP logged in they turned everything into shards and mailed the shards to player B.
They check the IP logs of player B and notice that they log in from the hacker's IP regularly.
They ban player B.

There's probably a safer way than risking your friend's account. Buy a mule account and make a level 1 to receive all the DE'ed stuff. Then use a wireless internet to connect to a random IP (like your neighbor's maybe?) and use that as the "hacker's" IP. Or go to an internet cafe and do the "hacking" there. No need to even have a friend do it. And if the mule gets banned you didn't lose any high leveled characters.

If ur freind who "Hacks" yoru account steals all your shit, wont they fucknig ban him? Or at least take the possesions away from him?

You can never really "launder" anything through wow.

Beleive me, my friend once stole arcanite reaper mats (a WHILE ago) i think it was when the arcanite bars were 40-45 g a pop, and we tried laundering it throuhg like 4 different acconts with an insane ammount of characters, they still found us and hit us with the ban shtick.

Just for some info I "yes me and not my BUDDY" had an account banned for this exact scam, as well as one back in early '05 for stockpiling all the loot i got from tele-farming strath chest and other instance hotspots. in the first case it was an atempted hack scam, and i managed to send about half the stuff on to 2 different accounts that weren't banned. in the second case i had spread about 20k G and many rare/epics to several accounts of mine and friends. the main mail-through account, the main tele account and 3 of 8 secondary accounts were ALL banned. so think real hard before you try this sh*t as it seems like such a good idea at the time.....

It is max 1 restores per account. Restored myself a blue item (I where dumb, didnt know about the 1 time thing). Then next time I actually dissenchanted my Dragonstalker chest instead Giantstalker (same icons, same stats almost, easy to mix). And I didn't get a new chest. :) So whats the outcome? If ur smart, don't DE ur epic and whine to GM cause it might not bring u back ur item and you will be looking at your nexuses wondering why you did this.

Don't be ridiculous here. First off, I HIGHLY, HIGHLY doubt they would ban someone's account for having items sent to it. Why? Lets say you log into your friend's account. You D/E his shit, delete his character. Sent the items to the last random newb to cock off to you in-game. He gets his shit back, and the random newb is... not banned. You get my point? If they would do this, all it would take is a simple procedure like this to ban anyone you dislike. Therefor, I wouldn't worry about your friend's account being deactivated. I'm not saying it's impossible, ALWAYS use common sense and caution in these situations, but come on, be realistic.

Someone who just steals shit, and is OBVIOUSLY guilty by getting rid of it to another friend ASAP is definitely going to get punished. But if you don't make yourself out to look so ridiculously guilty by trying to cover it up, you'll be fine. Your argument is like saying during an exam in college your friend tried to cheat and kept looking at the teacher over and over and kept trying to hide that he was cheating. It was OBVIOUS to the teacher that he was cheating, so he got a 0 for the test.

Covering your tracks and making sure you don't get caught is one thing, going to extreme lengths that are uncharacteristic and obviously admit guilt is another thing.

This is stupid. Nexus Crystals on BH sell for 15g.

So not worth the risk imo. lern2farm
