Just downloaded winpcap and made a little wow sniffer.

Files included;
WinPcap_4_0.exe
Setup.exe
Packet.exe
Packet.au3

Install WinPcap 4.0
Then install Packet X 3.2 (Setup.exe)
Run the script via the au3 or the compiled *.exe file.
For "no trusters" Both WinPcap 4.0 and Packet X 3.2 can be downloaded from their official homepages.. google them if needed.

Start World Of Warcraft, log in on your char.
Press "Start Capture".. and the program will begin to tap the packets that contains movement data.
You can stop/pause the sniffer at any time and resume it.. you can also clear all the data.
Aditional features is the "on top" checkbox that ensure that the Packet Sniffer window will always stay on top.
You can also set it to Transparent so it doesnt steal that much of the screen.

The code can easily be modified. But it was made a bit fast, so it is not that well structured.

Download it here

All im getting when i use this is size 34 packets. I compared this to the WPE PRO and some of them where the same. Is this really decrypting the packets? And in theory wouldn't i be able to use this to make gold and such?

It does'nt say anywhere that it decrypts the packets.. :-?
You can just see the packets.

WPE PRO can do this... Besides, I don't think you can do packet decryption with autoit.

There is no way to decrypt the packets in WPE...you'd have to write your own packet editor.

tcpdump -i any -n -s 1500 host insert_server_ip 1>>1 2>>2 & <cr>
tail -f 2

P.S might wanna add -A or -X , depending on version and comp. time options.

So basically to decrypt it you would have to make your own packet sniffer. How would you go by finding out the formula that the game uses to encrypt its packet with? And how you make your own?

To decrypt the packets, you would have to disassemble WoW and mimic their encryption/decryption algorithems.

To write your own, you would need knowledge in some programming language - pretty much any will do, no scripting languages though.

Basically, it shows you WoW's network protocol.

For the average user - it does nothing.

For the hackers, etc - it lets one see the most important part of an online game.
