Yup. Reviews are being way too harsh, this game is genuinely fun and it's definitely Dukey.

For a game that saw that many years old development it shouldn't have had all of those areas were it got way too boring.

It had its moments but honestly I think it was mostly just a let down.

I went in to it believing all the negative hype. The first 20 minutes or so were terrible for me but as soon as I shed the "I want this to suck" mentality it became a lot of fun.

its a halo remake, except duke style lol, at least in my opinion.

I like it so far though. Beginning was pretty boring.

Multiplayer is a total let down tho.

Really? The first 20 minutes were my favorite part, I mean reliving the football stadium stuff, wondering around your house, playing pool, taking pisses, listening to the guy borning a baby in the shitter. I fucking loved that, brought me back to Duke3D and HL1.

I love the puzzle elements, the part with the crane brought me back to HL2, we don't get puzzles like that anymore, It's all that 15 seconds of 'fun' bullshit that Activision wants to stuff down our thoughts. There's no pacing in most modern FPS games and this is excellent.

No it's definitely not perfect but the reviews are laughable, I mean 2.5/10? What game were they fucking playing? This was 5/10 AT THE WORST, I would give it somewhere around 7-7.5/10.

I found it to be nothing like that.

So I just beat this game. Pirated it for PC just to see how it was, had no intention on playing more than an hour or so. Instead I couldn't stop and did it all in one sitting. This game is extremely refreshing and a nice change of pace from the serious FPS campaigns of today that all feel the same. This game is exactly what it was meant to be, over the top and hilarious. The reviews are pathetic; graphics should be the last thing on the list of what makes a game enjoyable (and these graphics are still acceptable for a good time). Maybe its because I'm older but I'd assume most video game journalists and critics of today grew up with Duke also so I don't know how their perception of what this game should be is so far off. There also seems to be a misconception that developers were working diligently for 15 years straight on this single project with consistent progress and therefor the game should be completely blowing everyone's mind. This is wrong in at least two areas: this game saw a completely broken development cycle with many development team and technology changes. I also don't recall development time being a factor in ratings; if someone developed an "ok" game but spend a very short time developing it, does that instead make the game "very good"? I detect a lot of bitterness for being forced to wait. I admit that the loading screens are too long and frequent, the water levels are questionable, and I think Hard mode was still pretty easy but the latter is just nitpicking considering you get very hard mode after beating it the first time. This is an 8/10.

I watched total biscuits 'Lets Play', wait let me rephrase that. I tried to watch Total Biscuits 'Lets Play', I was utterly disgusted by what was essentially his review. Right off the bat he starts complaining. At the pool table he went "oh that's kind of neat" And then proceeded to mock the game letting you sit around playing pool while aliens are attacking. And then rhetorically asked when does he get to shoot things. I absolutely loved playing pool, It seemed a little wonky physics wise but it was still some fun none the less.

Maybe it was just the fact that he was recording it so he just had to move along to keep people interested but I absolutely loved that first part, taking a piss, throwing poop, puting popcorn in the microwave, throwing faggs everywhere. I loved that stuff and he just completely skipped over all of it.

I particularly liked the strip club level because it was a nice break from shooting everything. I was hoping there would be another interlude later in the game to relax with but oh well. I think more FPS games should include non-shooting levels with mini games because sometimes you need a break from just killing things. Usually it gets repetitive and you need a reboot.

Pfff who would want those! There's nothing blowing up in them! No one would buy that! You're craaaazy.

You need shit blowing up every 15 seconds or you lose the 'bros'!

I loved pretty much all of Duke Burger too. It was fun and puzzly and unique. In terms of actual gameplay this game blows away every shooter I can remember in the last 2-3 years simply because it's not just cover, shoot, run to next cover, repeat.

Yep, I'd take it a step further and say that any time you're small it's awesome. 75% of being small is like movement puzzles, basically climbing up to the exit.

I'm inside the Dam right now, just finished a whole large part where I'm small. Looved it. Also Fucking physics puzzles like where you have to seasaw the railing in the elevator to get up. So simple yet so awesome.

DaFox has a gigantic hard-on for this game.

It looks good, nothing special though. I'll see if any of my friends have it or for the price to drop before I pick it up.
