random fact I learned from pawnstars: pilots in wwII had little survival kits for crash landings, and they contained amphetamine.

I wouldn't be surprised if pilots also took amphetamines for long voyages.

they did. a problem with them was relying on them too much. they don't make you a genius they simply make you more alert. iirc they'd still make mistakes based on a rather nonlinear curve with more mistakes being made the longer they went without sleep.

amphetamines aren't quite miracle drugs. maybe combining them with piracetam / aniracetam might be as close as we can get to unlocking "academic" potential

took piracetam for a while, noticeable improvement in speech pattern, colors appeared more vibrant and i had crazy vivid dreams. cool drug imo

yes guy, to a certain extent you are right, the character of the person taking the drug is the most important factor. however using a powerful drug such as an the amphetamines we're talking about shouldn't be suggested so lightly. amphetamines are a great way to stay awake, yes, but that practice is also unhealthy in itself. ignorant people like yourself shouldn't (although i know the situation is inevitable, hey maybe you took some amphetamines and studied for a test. that's great, but the experience you have with them is negligible) recommend amphetamines when the purpose they are serving would really be served best by a cup of coffee or an energy drink. (did you really just compare the logistics of a moon landing with playing diablo?) also, please don't say that drugs (with the exception perhaps of antidepressant type medications) improve character; that's ridiculous.

Taking Amphetamines/Adderall for 2-3 days to play D3 isn't going to hurt anybody whom shouldn't be taking them in the first place.

Thanks for all the irrelevant and speculative examples, however, they really won't. Anything that was accomplished using amphetamines could and would have been accomplished without them. Don't really know where "handling my drugs" comes in. As a long time drug user currently attending a university; I believe I've handled them quite alright.

You're right, it probably isn't. But what is the purpose? The recommendation of a powerful drug such as an amphetamine for such a pointless task with such mild concentration/labor requirements is the only thing I'm against. It shows naivety.

prescribed Vyvanse and took it daily for around 8 months. No noticeable side effects at all besides sleeplessness and vasoconstriction (not able to achieve a good boner). Am I still ignorant? Sorry I'm not a chemist with their PhD along with being a drug addiction specialist. I know it's anecdotal evidence on my behalf but playing a few days strung out on amphetamines would only affect you if you had other plans. One of the biggest problems I notice with amphetamine users is a total disregard for sleep. I always attempted a full 8 hours even when taking the meds and I NEVER had any major problems.

you're holding amphetamines pretty highly. Sure if you get addicted to it they can ruin your life but not everybody has a problem with self control like you. I got some good things accomplished on the drug but I knew never to fully rely on it at any time. Once I was done with school I stopped taking the stuff. Combining ANY drug + lack of self control = recipe for disaster. Like I said, depends on the person

Because it works better than anything else suggested, is easily found and affordable. It doesn't show naevity. It shows that you don't want to sleep.

I'd actually be willing to wager that the small amount of amphetamine it would take versus the massive amount of caffeine one would have to intake to accomplish the same thing (staying up for 2-3 days, doesn't matter if you think it's stupid - it's the goal here) ends up with the caffeine being more of a health hazard. Have you ever used caffeine pills to stay up for an extended period of time like that? It gets to a point where you're popping a pill (typically 200mg) at least every hour quickly.

This is actually something I'm relatively experienced with.
