[Exploit] Free Mythic Potions

First off, this isn't really a bug, but as intended. However, it can certainly be exploited. I've been trying to get someone to write a macro for this for a while, but now it's circulating on other forums and will probably be fixed soon.

Inferno/Act 1/Legacy of Cain
When you find Adria's hut, go down into the cellar and clear out Captain Doltyn and his gang. The big cauldron in the middle always drops a health potion -- a Mythic one in Inferno. Grab it, exit the game, and resume to another game. You should respawn right there and the Cauldron has its state reset so you can pop another potion. You can continue to do this as long as you want.

If you want to run your own macro, you can easily do it with a program called AutoYou.

Is this program the same type of program that Ghostmouse is ( http://www.ghost-mouse.com/ ) ? Ghostmouse is free btw too.

Sounds the same, yeah. AutoYou is dated, but still gets the job done. I don't know if there are better alternatives now. AutoYou will record and write the script on-the-fly in AutoIt that you can decompile.

Also, with regard to the potion stuff, I was incorrectly informed they were worth 864 gold each, but apparently it's only 24. Still, it's an easy way to get Mythic Potions if you need them. The area is just a skip away from the waypoint. There's also a chest that spawns there at what appears to be 50% of the time. I'm not sure if this is one of the chests people were already exploiting or not. There are bound to be other areas with the same scenario.

Also there's chat that spawns sometimes, to me it dropped only gold but I also have low MF

There's also sometimes a chest inside or outside of the cave.

So after 100 runs, @ 250% mf, I found some decent yellows and lots of blues + tomes of secrets out of the chest spawns

I dont mean to be rude, but this is a perfect spot for an afk bot.

I dont know how to script or write these things, but im telling u with enough mf, these chests are easily farmable.

The process is join, click cauldron, check for the 2 positions of chest, loot and leave.

You can even tp to salvage or sell and it still works.

Even tho this says potion only, its not just that.

Sometimes the smallest things can be botted for the greatest rewards.

For now my hands and fingers be workin, one of you super programmers make this happen please!

Yes, we know there are chests there. One is in the screenshot, but tbh, there are probably better areas to farm. If you happen to need a bunch of free Mythic Potions for questing or something, though, this is the place. If you want to easily make your own macro, download the AutoYou program I linked in the first post. You just record, do what you want the macro to do, and stop recording when you're done. It will create a macro that loops everything you did for you.

I will try out the AutoYou and see what I can come up with, thanks for that.

What I was more getting at, is you kill the dude before you go off to bed, and set it off to work. Not only does this allow potion farming, but on top of that this is very simple gold / crafting mats farming as you can just salvage everything you get, which is about 20% nightmare mats and 80% hell mats.

Was just trying to point out that there is more than just potions available here, and that I have found rare rings, amulets, and inferno yellow / blue weapons with good stats, easily fetching quick gold on the AH.

This area is more for the beginner, but with patience can be very rewarding.

I set this up and let my girlfriend do it. Checking to see if I can teach my pets. LOL.

This should take you directly to the cellar you were just in, go grab the cauldron (again) and also feel free to see if the random chest spawns, if you'd like. There should be no boss to kill and potions are free. Or you can just redo the explore the cellar and kill the boss with it again and again.

I just started inferno and I am waiting for my friends to get on. This is a great way to get some magical items and more importantly quick/safe potions to prepare yourself for inferno.

You have 4 options.

Collecting just potions - Simply kill the boss one time and keep joining the same game.
Keep doing explore the cellar quest which gives you the health pot and a pretty easy boss
This also gives you the Leah bonus(gold/exp), if you choose to keep killing the boss.
The fourth option is there is a random chest that spawns 1/2 - 1/3 of the time grab it or don't!

If you read the "Diablo III Programs and Exploits" forum you would see that there are already two bots doing this "exploit"
