I've found many guides on how to get a lot of gold. Unfortunately, they all involve late-game circumstances, such as later levels and Nightmare or Hell mode.

Right now I'm pretty early in the game. I've just cleared the Arcane Sanctuary in Act II and my next goal is getting through Tal Rasha's tomb. Up to that point, are there any special strategies or tips that can help me earn a lot of gold?

I read somewhere that the Arcane Sanctuary is a good place to get gold. Someone told me they filled their stash maximum of gold with only two runs through it. I went through the whole thing last night and hardly got anything. Hardly any monsters dropped any gold at all. It was a bust.

pick everything and sell to npc? equip items with extra gold, use find item, etc. or find a dupe.

Good lord, you don't pick up gold..

You pick up and sell the items. I'm not sure what guides you're referencing, but they follow a similar principle, only, later on in the game, gold drops are much higher, so its actually worth picking up gold manually.

You're best off just doing tomb runs with a group, because hardly any people pick up gold or blue drops.

Would you say that the Magic Find enhancements are more profitable than the Gold Find enhancements earlier on?

Yes. Later on having a pick up script for gold can ensure a good gold making rate. Magic find is great from start to finish in diablo in general, one of the most useful thing for farming the best and most expensive items.

Not sure if this was just for the reset or still needs opinions.

The way I get fast gold at the start as in normal act 1 and 2 goes like this.. (I play classic)

Rings/ammys are one of the best things, and always id them, you can get plain magic fcr rings early and they sell for 5k each. Keep all white/magic staffs and necro wands, +skill weps bring in good gold.

Then when you get to act 2 you can start picking and selling breast plates that sell for a good few k's too.

I wouldn't mf for gold this early in the game.. So just walk through the acts as normal and you will find it..

wands/orbs are the best in less space, much mods and 36k at vendor very often

then armors and staves >= exceptional

Never thought of it that way; I usually just group with people and pick up the endless array of blue drops people don't give a crap about; maybe I'll be on the lookout for lower items; I pretty much always pick up plate armour.

In act 1 the little throwing knives go for 400+, but best items are wands/orbs/staves that have +skills (as mentioned), rings/ammys, and any junk charms you find

Best way for a new character is go into a cow game that has been up a while. PPl often clear out the level and leave most of the stuff on the ground. A lot of it is stuff you wouldnt find for a long while and is worth 5000$ (act1 maximum).
